A high-altitude theme park attraction in southwest China has been shut down after a guest’s harness snapped during an “extreme leap.”

At the Wansheng Ordovician Theme Park near Chongqing, a guest leaping across the giant walkway 500 feet in the air that has gaping holes between each plank doesn’t realize that his harness has been severed until he safely reaches the other side.

The park visitor is shocked when he finds out the harness is no longer connected, a video of the incident shows. There is no safety net below the bridge which gives way to a sheer drop to rocks beneath it.

The local government is investigating the incident, however, staff members of the propaganda bureau at the Wansheng Economic Development Zone say the video is a publicity stunt—a comment that was met with outrage on Chinese social media platforms.

“It’s not marketing–it’s true. The [authorities at this] scenic area just want to hide the facts. The video is so clear–the safety cord really broke off. You must not go, you’d be risking your life,” said one person on Weibo, according to the South China Morning Post.

The theme park is known for its extreme thrills and is home to the world’s longest glass footbridge and a death-defying rope swing on the edge of a 1,000-foot-high cliff.
